Assignment:
Anyone in your hub can make an “offer” to help entrepreneurs in your hub work out particular strategic questions. Offers will typically come from advisors and more experienced members of your hub (though they may come from anyone) and can be made at any time. However, if you’d like to use offers strategically, they are most useful for the more complex builders (such as go-to-market strategy and financials), when entrepreneurs benefit from one-on-one time with an advisor.
When these moments in the semester arise, you should email your hub’s supporters to ask if they would post offers to help your entrepreneurs. Be clear that the supporters should specify how much time they have available to give (e.g. two hours total, 30 minutes per project) and when they are available. And encourage your entrepreneurs to take advantage of the opportunity. This exercise will further energize the ecosystem you’re building and strengthen the quality of your students’ projects.
Summary:
- You’ll invite hub supporters to post offers to contribute to student projects
- Students take advantage of these offers to produce higher-quality projects
Objective(s):
- Engage your ecosystem’s supporters
- Leverage outside expertise to help your students work through the more complex parts of their business plans
