Builders - Learning Modules
The core of RebelBase is project-building. RebelBase users create and develop projects aimed at solving real-world problems. And to help users with their journeys, RebelBase offers a toolkit filled with learning content to support their efforts.
Tracks and Builders
RebelBase’s learning content is organized in a set of modules we call builders. The builders are constantly growing and cover a range of themes — from problem identification to cash flow projections — that are crucial for any innovator to tackle in order to build a successful project. You can find the builders by entering your RebelBase hub and clicking on the button labeled “Builders” in the sidebar.
The builders are categorized in a series of tracks that summarize the entrepreneurial journey. Go to the builders to explore their content.
Briefs, Inspiration Bytes, Workshops, and RebelMaps
Under each builder, there’s a set of topics that further breaks down the overarching theme.
When a user clicks on any of the topics, they’ll see that the topics are broken down even further into bite-sized lessons. These lessons include:
Briefs: which introduce vital concepts that’ll be instrumental to answering key questions
Inspiration Bytes: which provide a bit of encouragement or offer examples that illustrate the concepts
Workshops: which give a step-by-step breakdown of exercises that can be conducted to help answer the guiding questions. Many workshops come with RebelMaps, worksheets that contain frameworks or models to help them tackle the questions posed by the workshops. See example below.
One of the strengths of the builders is that they’re highly modularized, which makes it easier to break down the mammoth task of launching a project into small, manageable bits that can be delegated to a team.
These builders facilitate experiential learning by posing challenges and providing tools for overcoming these challenges; they’re highly action-oriented and ask users questions meant to push them to engage with the world.
Building a Project
Now that you have a handle on what sorts of content RebelBase offers and how it can help users develop a project, it's time to learn how users will build projects in the platform.
Creating a Project
After your users have signed up to RebelBase, they can create a project by logging into RebelBase, looking on the sidebar menu on the left, selecting “Projects,” and then clicking “Create a New Project.” Then they’ll need to answer the questions that appear on-screen to set up their projects.
Inviting Team Members to a Project
Once users have created a project, they can invite team members by clicking the “add to team” button on the left sidebar.
The project creator will automatically become its “Owner.” Other team members can also be assigned as owners. Owners can do anything they want with a project. Once assigned, ownership cannot be revoked.
Team members can be invited as
- Admins, who can manage user permissions and project settings
- Members, who will be able to edit the project
- Support Members, who will be able to view a project behind the scenes but won’t be able to edit it.
|
Tip: Your users should be sure to invite team members using the same email address that their invitees used to make their RebelBase accounts. This will save them the trouble of having a double account. |
Building Your Project
Now that they’ve created a project, your users can build the project by clicking on the “Builders” button on the sidebar. This will take them to a page that lists RebelBase’s collection of learning modules (a.k.a. builders) that they can complete building their project.
To complete a builder, users should click on the builder and they will be transferred to a page that lists several topics. For example, if they open the “Problem” builder, there will be a list of topics that includes “Problem Definition,” “Openings,” “Target,” and “Vision.”
When they click on any of these topics they will be taken to a page with several sections (listed on the right side of the page) that provide learning content as well as a section with a pencil icon that leads them to a box where they can fill out their responses. They should fill out this box and save their work.
Publishing Your Project
For each of the builders there is a “Review and Publish” topic. Once your users have filled out every topic in a builder, they should select the “Review and Publish” option.
There, they will be asked to select “Who can see this?” Their options are:
Team Only: Only people invited to the project, regardless of their role, will see the project profile.
My Events: Anyone with access to the team’s events will see the team’s project profile.
My Hub, Groups, Events: Anyone in the team’s hub and groups or participating in the same events as the team will see its project profile.
Everyone: Anyone, including those not registered in the Rebelbase platform, will be able to see a team’s project profile.
|
If you are part of a program, be sure to select either the “My Hub, Groups, Events, “Events” or “Public” privacy settings when publishing your content. Otherwise, the administrator(s) will not be able to view your project. |
Finally, they should click “Publish.”
This setting can be modified any time.
